The happyhome Workshop
Building happyhomes from the Inside Out

"There is no topic more relevant in today's busy world. We long for connection and meaning. People need simple solutions and happyhome delivers just that - so cleverly thought out, easy to use, and beautifully done."

Frantic frazzled families.

America is experiencing an epidemic of frantic frazzled families, over-committed and disconnected, too busy and too stressed out to fully enjoy life or each other. We go faster and faster, take on more and more and often feel like we are spinning out of control. We have all become dizzybusy. There seems to be little time left to do the important things that connect us as a family and allow us to create the loving, supportive safe haven we all need at home.

What’s a happyhome?

A happyhome is more than a place to live. It’s the quality of connection we have with others that makes us feel "at home" no matter where we are. It's the comfort of knowing that we belong somewhere and we matter to someone. When we send our children out into the world with a strong sense of family, values and self, they are able to make good choices based on those internalized values and they are naturally drawn back to that loving, safe haven we created for them at home.

The happyhome habits.

The happyhome habits are based on scientifically proven “protective factors” that families need to be strong and happy in today’s world: communication, quality time, family traditions, shared memories, stories and values, and lots of love and affection. The five simple, fun activities make a big impact on family life and represent five different ways we build connections with our loved ones and weave the values that make us strong into our family life.  They are dinner conversations, family fun nights, treasured traditions, the family story and unexpected gifts of love. The happyhome Workshop shows you how these five simple habits can make your family life better AND easier.

Workshop attendees learn how to:

  1. teach the value of respect, honesty and responsibility in just minutes a day
  2. develop a joyful sense of family togetherness in just two hours a week
  3. create wonderful holiday memories with one simple tradition a month
  4. preserve a legacy of values, traditions and stories one day a year
  5. build loving relationships with simple gestures once in a while

Talk doesn't create change…

We are constantly exposed to books, workshops, and sermons that inspire us to be better people and live better lives.  We get all excited about "what could be." But those inspirations fizzle quickly because we're creatures of habit and change isn't easy. We go back to our daily lives and forget most of what we heard within a day or two. . This inspirational, educational and interactive workshop will make you laugh and make you cry.  But most importantly, it will make you think. It has a proven, successful impact on family life because the tools move us from inspiration to action. Everyone goes home with five fun and practical sample products that help them weave these new habits into their busy life right away.

"My children absolutely LOVE the Family Fun Box—it has a permanent place of honor on our dinner table. I cannot begin to describe the anticipation every Friday night as the activity is drawn from the box or the exhilaration of my children when their idea is chosen. This is one activity I feel could single-handedly transform a family's closeness." ~ Julie Lowery
